'On Wednesday, 20th May, the Gulf English School community came together to celebrate the graduation of our Sixth Form Class of 2026. It was a memorable evening filled with pride, laughter, reflection, and celebration as students enjoyed this special milestone alongside their families, friends, and teachers.
This cohort has faced unique challenges throughout the academic year. Due to the tension within the region, all external examinations were cancelled. Despite the uncertainty and disruption this created, our students conducted themselves exceptionally well throughout the process. They approached every challenge with maturity, patience, and resilience, completing internal May examinations which will now form part of the evidence submitted to examination boards. As Head of Sixth Form, I could not be prouder of the way this year group has represented both themselves and the school during this challenging period.
Throughout the evening, we reflected on the importance of our core values: being respectful, responsible, and resilient. This graduating class has consistently demonstrated these values and has helped shape a year group that has supported one another, shown determination, and continued striving for success despite the obstacles placed in front of them.
One of the highlights of the evening was recognising students for their achievements and contributions to school life. Congratulations to our award winners:
Greatest Achievement Award – Aamna Elwazir, Abdulla Sadiq, and Alanoud Al Hitmi
Greatest Contribution to GES – Nour Abougalala and Fatima Al Naimi
GES Core Values Award – Aisha Al Kubaisi, Yusuf Rustom, Abderrahman Jouini, Khalifa Al Khalifa, Jassim Hejji, Zara Khan, Nasser Mashhadi, and Ahmad Al Muhanadi
It was also wonderful to see students taking photographs and creating memories with family and friends after the ceremony. These moments captured the spirit of the evening perfectly and reminded us all that “Good times become good memories, bad times become good lessons.”
The Class of 2026 leaves GES with much to be proud of. I would like to thank our students, parents, and staff for their support throughout the year and wish our graduates every success as they begin the next chapter of their journeys.
