Dear Parents,

As we approach the end of another successful academic year, our students will begin their end-of-year assessments next week. These assessments provide an opportunity for teachers to celebrate the progress made throughout the year and identify areas for future development. We encourage all students to approach the assessments with confidence, get a good night's sleep, and try their very best. Most importantly, there is no need for additional stress or pressure—these assessments simply allow students to demonstrate the knowledge and skills they have developed through their learning this year.

Mr. Gary

Head of Juniors

It has been a fantastic week in Year 3 Writing! The children have enjoyed creating, drawing, and presenting their own unique characters to the class. They used exciting adjectives and ambitious vocabulary to describe their characters' appearance and personality. The pupils also worked hard on writing engaging story openings, carefully introducing the setting and capturing the reader's attention from the very beginning. It has been wonderful to see their creativity, imagination, and confidence develop throughout the week.

Year 4 have had a fantastic week of learning! In Science, we carried out a hands-on digestive system experiment to discover the amazing journey food takes through our bodies. In Writing, we developed our narrative skills by exploring creative ideas for characters, settings, problems and solutions. In Maths, we used coordinates to create polygons and investigated different types of graphs to help us understand and interpret data. We also travelled back to Ancient Egypt, studying the beautiful designs and patterns used on Egyptian necklaces. What a week of curiosity, creativity, and discovery!

Year 5 have made a fantastic start back after Eid, diving straight into exciting new learning! In Writing, they have been developing their key grammar skills, focusing on the features needed to strengthen their writing across different genres. In Maths, they have been sharpening their understanding of Position and Direction, applying their knowledge through a range of practical and problem-solving activities. In IPC, the children are continuing with their Bold and the Brave topic, exploring Greek society and learning about the life and achievements of Alexander the Great. In Science, they have begun investigating Reversible and Irreversible Changes, exploring how materials can change and whether those changes can be undone. It has been a purposeful and engaging week, with Year 5 settling back into routines brilliantly and showing real enthusiasm for their learning.

It has been another engaging and productive week across GES Juniors, with pupils exploring new ways to learn both inside and outside the classroom.

In Computing lessons, children have been developing their skills in 3D modelling, using digital tools to design and create their own models. Pupils demonstrated excellent creativity and problem-solving as they explored how shapes, dimensions and structure can be combined to produce detailed designs. It has been fantastic to see their confidence grow as they experiment with new technology and bring their ideas to life.

Meanwhile, pupils in 6MF have been making the most of the recent sunshine by taking their reading outdoors. Enjoying books in a calm, open environment has been a wonderful way to promote a love of reading, while also allowing children to relax and fully immerse themselves in their texts. The positive atmosphere and focus shown by the class has been excellent.

These experiences continue to highlight the importance of providing varied and meaningful learning opportunities, helping our pupils to stay motivated, creative and engaged in all areas of the curriculum.
