Dear Parents, As part of Book Week, our school community has been inspired by the imaginative world of Alice in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll. Learners have enjoyed exploring the story’s curious characters, unexpected events, and fantastical settings, using these as inspiration across a range of subjects. In art, students created imaginative pieces inspired by the surreal and playful styles of artists such as Joan Miró and Salvador Dalí. They experimented with bold colours, abstract shapes, and dreamlike designs to represent characters and scenes from the story in creative and original ways. Across other areas of learning, students used construction toys to recreate key settings from the story, carefully building imaginative worlds such as whimsical gardens and curious character spaces. In maths, playing cards from the story were used to support engaging activities, helping learners develop their understanding of numbers and patterns in a fun and meaningful context. Book Week has been a rich celebration of creativity and imagination, encouraging learners to bring stories to life through hands-on experiences, artistic expression, and playful learning.
