Dear Parents, It’s hard to believe we’re already at the halfway point of the term! The energy around Juniors has been fantastic — from our engaging lessons to the excitement of our Extra-Curricular Activities and the start of the Junior Football League, it’s been a busy and rewarding few weeks. This week, our focus has been on teamwork and collaboration — two essential skills that lie at the heart of the GES Way. Whether on the football pitch, in the classroom, or during creative group projects, students have been demonstrating what it means to work together with Respect, Responsibility, and Resilience. We also came together on Thursday for a special Solidarity with Palestine event. Students and staff dressed in the colours of the Palestinian flag and joined an assembly that encouraged reflection, unity, and empathy. It was a meaningful moment for our school community, showing compassion and awareness of the importance of standing together in times of difficulty. Finally, a big congratulations to 3MG, who achieved an impressive 99.13% attendance this week — the highest in Juniors! A fantastic effort that shows great commitment and consistency. Well done, 3MG! Yours faithfully, Mr. Gary |

This week, Year 3 celebrated the end of our Science unit with a fantastic Exit Point all about how our bodies move and stay healthy! The children proudly shared what they have learned about bones, joints, and muscles, explaining how these help us move, support our body, and protect vital organs. Linked to World Food Week, pupils also explored the importance of a balanced diet—sorting foods into groups, planning healthy plates and discussing how nutrition keeps our muscles strong. They then enjoyed a lively drumming session, learning how rhythm and coordination link to movement, and took part in mindful movement and drawing activities to connect body and mind. It was inspiring to see parents and their children engaged and reflective as the children demonstrated their scientific knowledge and healthy living awareness. Enjoy this week’s photos capturing their energy, creativity, and growing understanding of how to keep body and mind in balance!

This week we have been consolidating our phonics knowledge by reviewing all the sounds we have learnt so far. We did this through reading, writing and using a range of different games. We have been on a word hunt, to find words that contain the sounds we have been learning. We looked for the phonics green words in the sand. Lastly, we did a word race, seeing who could reach the finish line first by reading words containing all the sounds we have learnt. All the children did really well, they have been showing great enthusiasm for their learning and shown that they have already learnt so much! They also demonstrated some great team work, working together in the games to find the words and great sportsmanship by cheering each other on in the word race.
