Al Sedra Week 7 Junior School

Dear Parents,

This week marked an exciting moment in Juniors as we officially elected our new Student Council! Each class took part in the democratic process — nominating candidates, giving speeches, and voting for the classmates they felt would best represent their voices.

The Student Council plays an important role in school life, giving pupils the opportunity to share ideas, lead initiatives, and make a positive impact across the Junior School. Through their work, students learn the value of leadership, teamwork, and responsibility — key elements of the GES Way.

We are incredibly proud of everyone who put themselves forward. It takes real confidence and courage to speak in front of others and to campaign for something you believe in. Congratulations to all our newly elected members — we look forward to seeing the brilliant contributions you’ll make this year! 📣 Your 2025 Student Council Representatives:

Finally, a big congratulations to 5MS and 5MU, who both achieved an outstanding 100% attendance this week! What a brilliant accomplishment and a reflection of excellent commitment and consistency. Well done to all students (and parents!) for helping make every day count — a fantastic example of the GES Way in action.

نهدف في قسم اللغة العربية إلى ربط الطلاب بلغتهم العربية، والاستمتاع بدراستها ولأجل تحقيق هذا الهدف نستخدم مواقع بها ألعاب تعليمية ونطبقها في حصص اللغة العربية مثل (موقع وورد وول)، بالإضافة إلى أننا قمنا بعمل عدة أنشطة مختلفة منها ما قام به طلاب الصف الثالث. 

حيث قامت معلمات الصف الثالث ( إيمان، فدوة، إيناس ) بعمل أنشطة مختلفة من بداية العام استمتع بها طلاب الصف الثالث.

Arabic teachers always aim in the Arabic language to link students with their Arabic language and enjoy studying it. To enjoy their study and achieve this goal, we use enjoyable sites with educational games with students in Arabic language classes such as Word wall. As well as, we have done some many different activates since beginning of the year, these include: Year 3 Activity. The Grade 3 teachers (Iman, Fadwa, and Enas) organized a variety of activities since the beginning of the school year, which the students greatly enjoyed, it was great activity. This makes Arabic lessons full of fun and enjoyment.

Our Year 4 students are currently working on a fantastic art project inspired by the Qatari desert landscape. Using easels and canvas, they are learning how to blend colours, create texture, and capture the warm tones and vast horizons that make the desert so distinctive. 

This hands-on activity encourages patience, creativity, and attention to detail, while helping students appreciate the natural beauty of Qatar. Each week, their canvases are taking shape as they experiment with composition, perspective, and brush techniques. 

We can’t wait to see the final gallery of artwork once the project is complete — it’s already shaping up to be something truly special! 🌅
