Dear Parents,

Dojo Rewards

At our school, we are proud to promote and celebrate our three core values: being Respectful, Responsible, and Resilient. These values are at the heart of everything we do, helping our students to grow not only as learners but as kind and thoughtful individuals.

It has been wonderful to see so many children demonstrating these values each day, whether through helping a friend, taking care of their belongings, or showing perseverance in their learning. As a way to recognise and reward this positive behaviour, students earn Dojo points. We are delighted to see the children so motivated and proud of their achievements.

Over the next two weeks, they will have the exciting opportunity to spend their hard-earned points in our Dojo Shop, choosing from a range of fun and meaningful rewards.

Thank you for your continued support in encouraging our students to be the best they can be.

Yours faithfully,

Pamela Abbas

This week, our Preschoolers began an exciting exploration of toys through hands-on and creative activities. They created vibrant artwork using paint in a bag, developing fine motor skills while enjoying the sensory experience. A favourite was the toy car wash, which encouraged imaginative play and teamwork.

For numeracy, the children built block towers, practising counting, balancing and problem-solving. Outdoors, they had lots of fun riding bikes, helping to strengthen their muscles and improve coordination while enjoying the cooler weather.

It has been lovely to see their curiosity and enthusiasm. Thank you for your continued support.

This week in Reception, we have begun our exciting new topic Weather Wonders. The children have been learning about Spring and Summer, exploring how the weather changes and what we might see during these seasons. They have enjoyed getting creative with seasonal crafts, making bright sunshine collages and colourful flower artwork.

We have also been learning about animals we might spot in warmer weather, from buzzing bees to fluttering butterflies.

Inspired by the story Jasper’s Beanstalk, the children became little gardeners and planted their own bean seeds. They are now eagerly watching them grow as we learn how plants change and thrive in different weather.

This week in Year 1, we have been learning how to read part-whole models and use them to write our own addition number sentences. The children have also been practising their number bonds to 10, helping to build confidence and fluency in addition.

In our Arty Party challenge area, the children have been getting creative by designing and making their own pirate eye patches. They have loved using different materials and adding their own unique touches. We are looking forward to wearing them at our exciting pirate party.

It has been a fun and busy week full of learning and creativity!

This week, the students began innovating and writing their own text maps, using the process of making sandwiches to help organise and structure their ideas. In our topic From A to B, they explored how to find key information from a fact file, deepening their understanding of physical features such as mountains and rivers, as well as human features like roads and buildings.

In Maths, the focus was on counting in multiples of single-digit numbers and consolidating number bonds to 20. The children used a range of hands-on resources to support their learning and strengthen their number sense.
