Dear Parents,

Come Along to Our Parent Workshops!

Parent workshops are a valuable opportunity to gain insight into how your child learns and how we support them at school. These sessions give you a clearer understanding of the curriculum, the teaching strategies used in the classroom, and the resources available to help your child succeed. By attending, you’ll not only feel more confident in supporting your child at home, but also strengthen the home-school partnership that is so vital for their progress.

Throughout the year, we offer a calendar of parent workshops covering a range of subjects and year groups. Whether it's phonics, math strategies, or how we develop reading comprehension, these workshops are designed to keep you informed and involved in your child’s learning journey. We encourage all parents to take advantage of these sessions so you can play an active role in your child’s education and help them thrive both academically and emotionally.

We are always open to ideas and suggestions for workshop themes you feel would be beneficial—your input helps us tailor the sessions to better support you and your child.

Thank you for your continued support and contributions to the academic year so far.

Yours faithfully,

Pamela Abbas

We are excited to introduce our new topic this term: Nursery Rhymes! Over the coming weeks, we’ll be exploring classic rhymes through songs, stories, and hands-on activities to support early language development, memory, and creativity.

To begin, we’ll be focusing on the much-loved rhyme ‘Incy Wincy Spider’. The students will enjoy singing along, learning the actions, and exploring the story behind the rhyme. It’s a fantastic way to build confidence with rhythm, language, and repetition.

As part of our activities, we’ll be getting creative by making our own spiders using a range of craft materials. This will be a fun opportunity for the students to use their imaginations and express themselves through art.

We’ll continue to support fine motor development through cutting, sticking, and assembling parts of the spider crafts. These activities help build hand strength, coordination, and control; all important foundations for early writing.

This week in Reception, we’ve been busy having fun with the rhyme ‘Five Little Monkeys’.
The students listened carefully and joined in with lots of enthusiasm. They also acted out the rhyme with great energy and imagination.

In our creative activities, the students painted and drew their very own cheeky monkeys. They were so proud to use their artwork to help retell the rhyme in their own words.

We also enjoyed plenty of active fun; singing, moving, and of course, jumping around like monkeys! There were lots of smiles, laughter, and giggles along the way.

It has been a lively and exciting week, full of learning through song, play, imagination, and creativity.

This week in Year 1, the students have been busy learning all about pirates!

In writing, they created exciting lists using adjectives to describe pirate objects such as swords and treasure. In Maths, they explored the number 10 using counters, cubes, and ten frames to help them understand the concept of one ten and ten ones.

As part of continuous provision, the students enjoyed making their own pirate hats and loved pretending to be part of a pirate crew!

It’s been a fun-filled week of imaginative play and hands-on learning!

Year 2 have continued exploring their topic ‘From A to B’ with a very exciting visit to the Shaikh Faisal Museum, where they viewed a fascinating range of transport from both the past and present.

In literacy, the students have been recapping adjectives from Year 1 and learning how to use them to make their writing even more exciting.

In numeracy, the focus has been on partitioning numbers using part–whole models and recognising numbers in different ways to build a strong understanding of place value.

It’s been a fantastic week of hands-on learning, discovery, and growing confidence across the curriculum!
