As we approach the finishing line of another successful academic year, I would like to take a moment to congratulate our pupils, staff, and parents on their continued hard work and commitment. This week has been a busy one, with pupils focusing on their end-of-year assessments both at school and at home. I have been delighted to see the determination, resilience, and positive attitude shown by our children throughout the assessment period. I eagerly await the results, as I am confident that our pupils have made tremendous progress and achieved so much over the course of the year. Next week, we look forward to coming together for our End of Year Assemblies, where we will celebrate the many successes of our pupils and recognise their hard work, achievements, and personal growth. These occasions are always a wonderful opportunity to reflect on the year's accomplishments and celebrate as a school community. A special mention must go to our Year 6 pupils as they prepare to transition into the Secondary phase of their education. This is an exciting milestone, and we are incredibly proud of everything they have achieved during their time in Primary. We wish them every success as they embark on this new chapter and are confident they will continue to thrive. Thank you to all our parents for your continued support throughout the year. We look forward to celebrating with you all next week. Mr Sidat |

This week, we have continued exploring our topic, Once Upon a Time, and have been learning about another traditional tale, The Enormous Turnip. The children have thoroughly enjoyed listening to and retelling the story and have done a fantastic job remembering all of the characters and the order in which they appeared. In Literacy, the children used their imaginations to write about what they would grow in their own gardens. The children showed great imagination as they wrote about what they would like to grow in their gardens. In Maths, we have continued learning about composition to 20, exploring different ways numbers can be made and broken apart. The children have been developing their understanding through a range of practical and engaging activities. The children also enjoyed making their own gardens, creating turnip artwork and exploring soil. They were enthusiastic and engaged throughout these activities. Keep up the amazing work!

This week in Year 3, we created a poster all about the Sun and sun safety as part of our Science topic on light and shadows. Although the Sun is a wonderful and essential part of life—helping plants grow, providing warmth, and giving us daylight—we also discussed how its UV rays can be harmful. The children explored important ways to stay safe, such as wearing sun hats, using sunscreen, staying in the shade during peak hours, and wearing sunglasses. We also linked this to our learning about shadows by investigating how shadows change depending on the Sun’s position in the sky. Across all subjects and assessments, the children have been working with great focus and determination. They showed resilience during their tests, carefully applying their knowledge and demonstrating what they have learned throughout the year. It has been impressive to see their confidence grow as they tackled different challenges, and their hard work has really shone through in their progress and attitude towards learning. In Geography, the children have been developing their map skills and learning about food from around the world as part of our topic on different places and lifestyles. They explored how geography influences cuisine and discovered dishes from a variety of countries, including Mexican tacos and even French delicacies such as frog legs. Using atlases and world maps, they located these countries and discussed how culture, climate, and location all play a role in the types of food people eat.

A Brilliant Week in Year 4! 🌟 This week has been another incredibly busy and productive week in Year 4! 🏫 The children have worked exceptionally hard to show everything they have learnt during their end-of-year assessments, and we are so proud of their focus and determination. 💪✨ In Literacy, the children have continued to dedicate themselves to revision. Our main focus has been on spelling, punctuation, and grammar, with the classes playing various interactive games to demonstrate their skills. ✍️🎮 For their writing assessments, they wrote some truly amazing 'losing stories', showcasing all of the fantastic narrative techniques they have mastered this year. 📖 Over in Maths, after successfully completing their reasoning papers, the children took part in some specially designed 'Task Master' challenges! 🏆 These team-based activities required them to collaborate and apply their mathematical reasoning in creative ways—such as working together to build the tallest free-standing tower using only sheets of paper! 📏🏗️ It was wonderful to see their teamwork, resilience, and problem-solving skills in action. 🤝✨

The children have approached each assessment with a positive attitude and have worked hard to demonstrate the knowledge and skills they have developed over the course of the year. It has been wonderful to see them applying everything they have learned and taking pride in their achievements. Alongside the examinations, we have been busy preparing for our Graduation Assembly, which is now only a short time away. The children have been practising songs, learning actions, rehearsing musical performances, and working together to ensure that the event is a memorable celebration of their time in primary school. There has been a real sense of excitement throughout the year group as preparations continue, and the children have shown great enthusiasm and commitment during rehearsals. Graduation is always a special occasion for our Year 6 students, providing an opportunity to reflect on their journey, celebrate their successes, and look forward to the next stage of their education.
