Al Sedra Secondary

The English Department in Secondary recently hosted an exciting and engaging Book Week, bringing together students and staff to celebrate a love of reading and creativity. Throughout the week, a range of activities took place across different year groups. One of the highlights was the Spelling Bee competition, where Year 7 students showcased their impressive vocabulary and confidence in front of their peers. Students in Years 7, 8, and 9 also took part in creative writing tasks, including designing and describing their own unique superhero characters. This allowed them to use their imagination while developing their writing skills in a fun and meaningful way.

In addition, both staff and students enthusiastically participated in a dress-up day, coming to school dressed as their favourite book characters, which created a lively and colourful atmosphere across the school. Book Week was a great success, encouraging creativity, confidence, and a deeper appreciation for literature among students. It was wonderful to see such enthusiasm and participation from everyone involved.
