The Gulf English School opened to meet the need for an educational facility which would provide a broad and balanced curriculum based on the English curriculum.
It is the first school and only school in Doha offering BTEC programme as an alternative pathway for IGCSE students and AS-level students.
- 1993 - The Gulf English School first opened and was established
- 2005 - Became members of BSME in 2005 and also IB accredited
- 2007 - First IB class graduated
- 2012 - Became CIS (Council of International Schools) accredited
